这张唱片汇集了前苏联作曲家普罗科菲耶夫和格鲁吉亚作曲家哈恰图良的管弦乐组曲。《夏夜组曲（Summer Night, Op. 123）》是根据普罗科菲耶夫的歌剧《修道院里的婚约（Betrothal in a Monastery） 》的音乐改编而成，而《斯基泰组曲（Scythian Suite, Op. 20）》则源自他的芭蕾舞剧《阿拉与洛利（Ala and Lolly）》。哈恰图良于1941年创作了《假面舞会组曲（Masquerade Suite）》，为米哈伊尔•莱蒙托夫的同名戏剧伴奏。他的芭蕾舞剧《斯巴达克斯（Spartacus Suite No. 2）》（1954年）描写了英雄斯巴达克斯带领奴隶起义打败罗马人的故事。这是萨格勒布爱乐乐团（Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra）为OehmsClassics厂牌录制的第三张唱片。这些组曲呈现出一系列的情绪和各种美妙的旋律。
