大提琴家巴勃罗·费尔南德斯（Pablo Ferrández）在他与Sony Classical合作的第一张录音室专辑中，为俄罗斯和西班牙之间架起了一座桥梁。这张具有浪漫精神的专辑将20世纪初两国音乐传统的相似之处交织在一起。巴勃罗说：“我想记录我所看到的作品，这反映了人的根源。”拉赫玛尼诺夫在1901年创作并与保·卡萨尔斯合作的大提琴奏鸣曲的演出，激发了巴勃罗的灵感，使他创作了一个突出西班牙和俄罗斯之间其他相似之处的节目。因此，这张唱片包括了俄罗斯作曲家为大提琴和钢琴编曲的三首作品，以及两位上世纪初的重要作曲家，也是拉赫玛尼诺夫和卡萨尔斯的同时代人的作品；献给后者的是由卡萨尔斯编曲的加泰罗尼亚圣诞歌曲《El cant dels ocells（鸟之歌）》。
