专辑简介
The fact that Johannes Pullois (ca 1420-1478) is so little known today among the Franco-Flemish composers of the 15th century is solely due to the fact that almost nothing is known about his life and work and only less than two dozen of his compositions have survived.
However, the historical significance and special quality of these rare surviving works quickly become clear in the PASSACAILLE recording with the Sollazzo Ensemble. As the title \’Ni Dufay, ni Binchois\’ (Neither Dufay nor Binchois) suggests, it is definitely worth taking a closer look and listening attentively to this skilful music.
Sollazzo Ensemble brings together musicians with a keen interest in late medieval and early Renaissance music. Founded in 2014 by Anna Danilevskaia, the ensemble benefits from the diverse musical backgrounds of its members, who work not only in the field of early music but also in modern classical, folk, and jazz music. Since 2014, Sollazzo has won many prestigious competitions and awards, including the York Early Music Competition, and received the NCEM Prize and the Cambridge Early Music Prize. They were beneficiaries of the Emerging Young Artists program – supported by Creative Europe – followed by a collaboration with the CCR d\’Ambronay as associated ensemble between 2017 and 2020.
