Sebastian Bohren gives outstanding readings of the Violin Concertos by Mendelssohn and Britten. In his consistently imaginative phrasing there is much virtuosity to admire, but also tenderness and poetic lyricism. Together with Andrew Litton the soloist catches very well the character of the Britten Concerto with its darker and its more hopeful sides.
