阿图尔·鲁宾斯坦(Arthur Rubinstein)是美籍波兰裔犹太人,著名钢琴演奏家。1887年1月28日生于波兰罗兹,1982年12月20日卒于日内瓦。
同为波兰人的鲁宾斯坦对肖邦钢琴作品的诠释为世界所公认。他一生中曾数度录制肖邦各种重要作品,体裁涵盖广泛。在一次又一次的录音中,他逐渐接近了肖邦音乐的本质,进入肖邦音乐中无垠境界与丰富意境的中心,排除一切不必要的矫饰、花腔与身段,达到纯粹的音乐表现境界。
鲁宾斯坦的演奏曲目并不局限于肖邦的作品。在演奏风格上,他对于古典乐曲倾向华丽而不炫技。
本专辑的50首乐曲均为鲁宾斯坦本人演绎,曲目以肖邦和贝多芬的经典作品为主,如肖邦的十数首夜曲与贝多芬的钢琴奏鸣曲《月光》和《悲怆》,兼带有勃拉姆斯、德彪西、斯特拉文斯基的部分代表作。
“对艺术而言,完美是不可能出现的,因为完美出现的同时也代表着死亡。在我的观念里,一场真正好的音乐会(或许我曾经演奏过这样的音乐会,或许没有)就像一扇小窗,它希望有更好的东西出现,即真正的快乐。这是我的梦想,我的白日梦,我希望能在音乐会后告诉大家:你们还有耐心听我再弹一曲吗?我希望我可以弹得更好,就是现在!”——鲁宾斯坦。
