本专辑中收录的是丹尼尔•加提演奏的斯特拉文斯基的名作《彼得鲁士卡》和《春之祭》。伊戈尔•斯特拉文斯基出生俄罗斯圣彼得堡附近的奥拉宁鲍姆镇，从小接受音乐教育，早年曾随里姆斯基一科萨柯夫学习。1910年写出《火鸟》，接着写出著名的两部芭蕾舞剧音乐《彼得鲁什卡》（1911）和《春之祭》（1913）组成了他的舞剧三部曲，奠定了他日后的成功。他1911年去了巴黎，1914年住在瑞士，1940年后住在加利福尼亚，1969年住在纽约，直到去世。斯特拉文斯基以其长寿的年龄横跨了半个二十世纪，他的音乐对本世纪产生了深远的影响。斯特拉文斯基是一位最富革新精神的作曲家，他善于取众家所长，广容博览，不断追求，从而形成自己独特的风格。
